Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced PMC HSSE Manager to lead Health Safety Security and Environmental (HSSE) activities for a major Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will ensure the implementation of HSSE policies procedures and best practices while fostering a culture of safety and compliance across all project phases. This role requires expertise in HSSE management within the Oil & Gas industry particularly in pipeline construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop implement and oversee the HSSE management plan for the pipeline construction project.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations company policies and international HSSE standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize safety and environmental risks.
- Lead incident investigations root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide HSSE training and awareness programs to project staff and contractors.
- Monitor and audit construction activities to ensure adherence to HSSE requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering construction and project management teams to integrate HSSE considerations into all project phases.
- Maintain HSSE performance reports including leading and lagging indicators for internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular HSSE meetings with project teams contractors and client representatives.
- Promote a proactive HSSE culture and encourage open communication about safety concerns.
- Ensure emergency response plans are developed tested and ready for deployment.
- Manage HSSE documentation and ensure proper recordkeeping for compliance and reporting purposes.
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Engineering Occupational Safety or a related field.
- Certifications: NEBOSH IOSH or equivalent certifications are mandatory. Additional HSSE qualifications (e.g. ISO 45001 ISO 14001) are preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1015 years of HSSE experience with at least 5 years in a managerial role in Oil & Gas pipeline construction projects.
- Proven track record of working in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations and standards applicable to the Middle East.
- Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of HSSE management systems and risk assessment methodologies.
- Strong leadership and teambuilding skills with the ability to foster a culture of safety.
- Proficient in incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients contractors and teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fastpaced environment.
