Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

This position shall be designed to oversee and complete all financial analysis across the market segment and products lines, within this retail and FMCG organisation, whilst also developing strong and mainstream reporting and commercial control capabilities. The FP&A Manager will be heavily geared towards the financial planning and strategic support to the business, in terms of delivering strong analytical-based commentaries and reports, to determine both performance metrics, business development support and any competitive/market analysis.

This role will also focus towards core commercial finance; whereby the analysis of supply chains and distribution models are assessed on an on-going basis and within the parameters of cost management, revenue optimisation and partnership agreements.

The client will look to recruit a professionally qualified accounting and finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) whom is able to deliver a demonstrable track record, within a mainstream corporate FP&A function, with a focus to complex and multi-tiered business lines across regional/international markets. The successful candidate shall be required to present 8 to 10 years of post-qualified experience, along with a strong knowledge of both UAE and GCC markets, along with the considerations-of an FMCG and/or supply chain operator.

Applicants shall be required to possess advanced Excel capabilities, to deliver both financial analysis and modelling, whilst also having exposure to supporting senior and broad ranging reporting lines within finance, operations and the sales-related front-end. The corporate cultural will require an energetic, pragmatic and diligent attitude; to allow for both departmental and corporate target attainment.


Desired candidate profile

1. Financial Forecasting & Budgeting

  • Budget Creation & Management: Overseeing the creation of annual budgets for departments or the entire organization, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively across various functions.
  • Financial Forecasting: Analyzing historical financial data and market trends to forecast future financial performance and adjust strategies accordingly. This includes predicting revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
  • Scenario Analysis: Developing various financial scenarios to evaluate how different variables (e.g., changes in market conditions or company performance) may impact financial outcomes.
  • Budget Tracking: Monitoring the performance of actual financial results against the budget, identifying variances, and providing explanations and recommendations to address discrepancies.

2. Financial Planning & Strategy

  • Long-Term Financial Planning: Developing long-term financial plans that align with the company's strategic goals, ensuring the financial resources required for growth, capital investments, and other major initiatives are available.
  • Strategic Financial Guidance: Partnering with senior leadership to provide strategic financial advice, helping to shape company strategy by identifying areas of financial opportunity or concern.
  • Capital Allocation: Ensuring effective capital allocation for the organization’s initiatives, making recommendations on where to invest or cut back on spending.

3. Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Data Analysis: Using financial data to provide insights and recommendations for business decisions, identifying key trends, opportunities, and risks in the organization’s financial performance.
  • Variance Analysis: Analyzing differences between forecasted and actual results, providing insights into performance and recommending corrective actions if necessary.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing detailed financial reports and presenting them to senior management, ensuring stakeholders understand financial performance and implications.
