PMC - GIS Lead Engineer-Abu Dhabi UAE

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PMC GIS Lead Engineer to oversee all Geographic Information System (GIS) activities for a highprofile Oil & Gas pipeline construction project in Abu Dhabi. The GIS Lead Engineer will manage spatial data analysis mapping and GIS application development to support project design planning and execution. This role requires technical expertise in GIS technologies leadership skills and experience in largescale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead GIS activities including data acquisition analysis and mapping to support project design and construction.
• Develop and manage GIS databases ensuring data accuracy integrity and compliance with project requirements.
• Oversee the preparation of maps visualizations and spatial data models for engineering environmental and planning purposes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate GIS solutions into project workflows and decisionmaking processes.
• Ensure GIS deliverables meet international standards project specifications and client requirements.
• Provide technical guidance for geospatial analyses such as route optimization terrain modeling and environmental impact assessments.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor GIS activities ensuring alignment with project standards and timelines.
• Support the resolution of technical queries (TQ) and manage changes related to GIS data and mapping.
• Conduct site visits to validate GIS data accuracy and assess its application in field activities.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and GIS staff promoting technical excellence and best practices.

Qualifications :

• Education: Bachelors degree in Geospatial Science Geography Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 1215 years of experience in GIS engineering with a focus on Oil & Gas or pipeline construction projects.
  • Proven experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in GIS software and tools (e.g. ArcGIS QGIS AutoCAD Map 3D).
  • Strong knowledge of spatial data management geoprocessing and remote sensing techniques.
  • Familiarity with international GIS standards and best practices (e.g. ISO OGC).
  • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills for team coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fastpaced project environment.
