Inspector Civil ( Earthworks Structures )
Job Summary
Manage the site supervision team for the Freight Facilities Project in Ruwais.
Inspect all roadworks activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings specifications method statements and project requirements.
Monitor site activities related to: Earthworks and excavation Subgrade and subbase works Road base installation Asphalt paving works Kerbstone and interlock installation Road markings and traffic signage
Verify setting out and levels before commencement of work.
Ensure materials used on site are approved and comply with project specifications.
Conduct inspection of compaction tests density tests and field quality tests.
Witness asphalt temperature checks laying rolling and compaction activities.
Check pavement thickness levels cross falls and alignment.
Coordinate with laboratory and material inspectors for testing requirements.
Review and close WIRs (Work Inspection Requests) within specified timelines.
Raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and site observations for non-compliant works.
Monitor contractor productivity and progress against approved baseline program.
Ensure all works are carried out according to approved safety and quality procedures.
Maintain daily inspection reports and site records.
Coordinate with contractor consultant surveyor and utility teams during execution.
Inspect temporary traffic diversions and traffic management arrangements.
Verify reinstatement works after utility crossings and road cutting activities.
Ensure proper protection of existing utilities and road assets during construction.
Attend site meetings and provide technical feedback on ongoing activities.
Check as-built drawings and ensure accuracy before submission.
Ensure compliance with local authority requirements such as Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Municipality standards.
Monitor drainage works associated with road construction including catch basins manholes and pipelines.
Ensure housekeeping and environmental compliance at site.
Support Resident Engineer and Project Engineer in overall site supervision and quality control activities.
Qualifications :
*Required Qualifications:**
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in civil construction inspection with focus on earthworks and structural works
- Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure projects including rail transportation or similar heavy civil works
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction specifications approved drawings and inspection test plans (ITP)
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics compaction testing and concrete quality control procedures
- Proficiency in preparing and maintaining inspection reports and non-conformance documentation
- Excellent command of written and spoken English for site communication and report preparation
Additional Information :
- Experience on major UAE infrastructure metro projects such as Dubai Metro (DM) or Etihad Rail projects
- Background in freight rail or heavy rail construction projects
- Professional certification in Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) or construction inspection
- Knowledge of UAE building codes safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements
- Experience coordinating with multiple disciplines including surveyors laboratories and material testing agencies
