Job Purpose:
Manage end-to-end client account opening and ongoing maintenance acting as the first point of contact to deliver a high-quality customer experience. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Central Depository Client Service Managers Operations and GSC) to ensure accurate client data setup and updates. Own billing administration by maintaining client tariffs ensuring timely and accurate monthly invoicing in line with agreed terms and responding to client queries on tariffs and invoices with a consistently high level of service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Meet tight client deadlines and remain available to support clients outside standard business hours when required.
- Build personal capability and contribute to strengthening team knowledge of SSV operations.
- Understand follow and demonstrate compliance with all applicable internal and external rules regulations and procedures with particular focus on Internal Controls and Group Compliance policies.
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards including timely closure of internal/external audit actions and addressing matters raised by external regulators.
- Understand the operational risk scenarios relevant to the role and act in a way that appropriately considers and mitigates operational risk.
- Proactively respond to client services queries relating to account opening.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all account opening documentation received.
- Co-ordinate account opening activities with the GSC to ensure accounts are opened accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Ensure Standing Instructions (SIs) are updated and communicated to operations teams in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate account-opening static data and ensure it is reviewed at least annually.
- Ensure client fee set-ups are current accurate and reviewed annually.
- Support Line Management in meeting AML regulatory requirements and HSBC Group standards.
Experience & Qualifications:
- A graduation degree is essential for obtaining a UAE visa and work permit. If your university certificate is from outside the UAE up-to-date attestations and equivalency are also mandatory (Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications Issued Outside The UAE)
- Minimum 2 to 5 years experience in custody and clearing account opening and fee billing.
- Excellent knowledge of custody and securities services industry
- Experience in both clients facing and back-office roles
- Team player with good influencing and negotiating skills
- Ability to work in a pressurized environment and manage priorities effectively
- Ability to apply innovative solutions to resolving client demands
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management and prioritization of work tasks
- Self-motivated enthusiastic and proven rapid learning capabilities
- Arabic speaking would be an added advantage
