Black & Grey HR is partnering with a well-established construction and engineering company in the UAE to recruit a Commercial & Contracts Manager. The position will play a key role in safeguarding the commercial performance of the business by providing strategic oversight across contracts project finances claims risk and commercial negotiations. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience managing complex construction contracts with particular expertise in FIDIC commercial negotiations claims cost management and dispute resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Management
- Drive commercial strategies to protect project margins and maximise financial performance.
- Monitor budgets cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete.
- Identify opportunities for cost recovery and value optimisation.
Contracts & FIDIC
- Review and negotiate construction contracts and advise on contractual risks.
- Manage FIDIC-based contracts contractual obligations notices and variations.
- Ensure appropriate contractual records and documentation are maintained.
Claims & Dispute Resolution
- Lead claims variations and EOT preparation and negotiations.
- Assess contractual entitlement and support resolution of commercial disputes.
- Coordinate with legal and project teams on complex claims and arbitration matters.
Risk & Subcontracts
- Identify and mitigate key commercial and contractual risks.
- Lead commercial negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure subcontract terms are aligned with the main contract.
Leadership & Reporting
- Lead and develop the commercial and contracts team across projects.
- Work closely with finance planning procurement and project teams.
- Report key commercial risks claims profitability and contractual exposure to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Quantity Surveying Construction Management or related field.
- 15 years experience in commercial and contracts management within construction/engineering.
- Strong experience in high-value contracts FIDIC negotiations claims EOTs and dispute resolution.
- Strong knowledge of cost control commercial risk and project profitability.
- Experience managing subcontracts and commercial teams.
- Strong negotiation analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/contract management systems.
- MRICS or equivalent is preferred. Contract management certification is an advantage.

Required Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Business Administration Engineering or a related field. - Minimum 1215 years of experience in store management warehouse operations inventory control or materials management within the construction contracting infrastructure or industrial sectors. - At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role managing multi-site stores or large-scale warehouse operations. - Strong knowledge of inventory management principles material control processes and warehouse best practices. - Experience handling construction materials MEP materials spare parts tools heavy equipment components and consumables. - Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP Oracle JD Edwards or equivalent inventory management platforms. - Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills. - Excellent leadership stakeholder management and communication abilities. -Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
