Role Title: Network & Security Operations Engineer (L2/L3)
Role Objective: Provide onsite operational support and optimization across firewall VPN WAF and proxy layers ensuring stable day-to-day operations while supporting backlog remediation and security hardening activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations across firewall VPN WAF and proxy environments
Perform firewall rule review cleanup and policy optimization using tools such as AlgoSec
Troubleshoot and resolve SSL/IPSec VPN connectivity issues including ISP-related challenges
Handle WAF signature management including staging tuning and false positive reduction
Support proxy hardening activities including log analysis and whitelist development
Conduct log analysis and basic security forensics to support operational decisions
Execute change management activities including CR preparation impact analysis and coordination
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for validation testing and approvals
Ensure adherence to security policies operational procedures and governance standards
Required Technical Skills:
Strong experience in Firewall technologies (Palo Alto Fortinet FortiGate)
Hands-on expertise in VPN technologies (SSL VPN IPSec FortiClient)
Experience with F5 WAF (ASM / Advanced WAF) including policy tuning
Knowledge of Proxy and URL filtering solutions (Cisco WSA FortiGate URL Filtering)
Experience with firewall policy management tools (e.g. AlgoSec)
Strong understanding of network security concepts and traffic flow analysis
Experience in log analysis and troubleshooting across multiple security layers
Soft Skills & Competencies:
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to work in highly coordinated multi-team environments
Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Ability to manage priorities in a dynamic operational environment
Structured approach to problem-solving and change execution
Experience & Qualifications:
5–8 years of experience in network and security operations
Experience in enterprise environments with multi-vendor security stack
