Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

As a Managed Services (MS) Cloud Senior Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the cloud infrastructure and architecture that supports our MS business applications and services. You will play a crucial role in inputting into the MS cloud strategy and managing cloud environments while ensuring availability, scalability, and security.

Roles And Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for MS Engagements regarding all cloud-related matters.

  • Understand clients' business needs and requirements to tailor MS cloud solutions accordingly for the key hyperscale's within the region.
  • Define MS Cloud frameworks, playbooks, processes, estimators, etc required to build and grow the MS Cloud practice
  • Define appropriate MS cloud strategies aligned with clients' business objectives and growth plans.
  • Define cloud deployment models (public, private, hybrid) and select appropriate cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) for each client.
  • Assess clients' existing infrastructure and applications to recommend cloud migration or optimization strategies.
  • Continuously review and refine MS cloud strategies based on industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Support in the definition of backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data protection and business continuity.
  • Provide Cloud security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks in migrations and operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in cloud technologies.

Expected Skills

  • Proven experience in managing cloud environments, preferably in a managed services or consulting role.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Oracle, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their respective services.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate cloud platform solutions based on client requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud migration, architecture design, and implementation.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of technology trends and their application in business contexts

1. Cloud Computing Expertise

  • Cloud Platforms: Deep knowledge of major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or IBM Cloud, and understanding their services, tools, and pricing models.
  • Cloud Architecture: Expertise in designing and managing cloud architectures, including IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and SaaS (Software as a Service).
  • Cloud Security: Understanding of cloud security protocols, best practices, and frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR compliance) to ensure data protection, compliance, and safe data transfers.
  • Cloud Migration: Experience leading or managing cloud migration projects, including assessing infrastructure, planning, and executing migrations to the cloud (lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or re-architecting).
  • Cloud Automation & DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps principles, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins) for cloud infrastructure management.

2. Leadership & Team Management

  • Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and growing teams of cloud architects, engineers, and technical staff.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work with other business units (e.g., development, IT, operations, security) to understand requirements and ensure that cloud strategies align with organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills to interact with key stakeholders (e.g., senior leadership, business leaders, and clients) and provide updates, strategic recommendations, and report on progress.
  • Project Management: Experience managing complex cloud projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while managing risks and ensuring quality.
  • Talent Development: Providing training, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members to ensure they stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends.

3. Strategic Vision & Business Acumen

  • Cloud Strategy: Ability to develop and execute a cloud strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals, focusing on scalability, agility, cost optimization, and competitive advantage.
  • Cost Management & Optimization: Strong understanding of cloud pricing models and strategies for cost management, such as rightsizing cloud instances, utilizing reserved instances, and optimizing storage costs.
  • Cloud Governance: Establishing and enforcing governance policies around cloud use, including resource allocation, cost control, performance, and security standards.
  • Vendor Management: Managing relationships with cloud service providers and third-party vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that services meet organizational needs.

4. Technical Problem-Solving & Innovation

  • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Ability to address complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure, performance, and integration.
  • Continuous Improvement: Driving continuous improvement through innovation, evaluating new technologies, tools, and services that can improve cloud infrastructure performance or reduce costs.
  • Cloud Optimization: Implementing strategies for optimizing cloud workloads, improving performance, scalability, and availability.

5. Change Management & Risk Management

  • Change Management: Overseeing cloud adoption and transformation efforts, managing resistance to change, and ensuring a smooth transition for employees and stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with cloud implementations, including data breaches, service disruptions, and downtime.
  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Developing and managing disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to ensure cloud services are resilient and data is protected.
