Senior Research Scientist and University of Alberta alumnus with over 15 years of advanced research
experience. Expertise lies at the intersection of biomolecular condensates, endogenous retroelement
(LINE-1) regulation, and the DNA Damage Response (DDR). Developer of the "Condensate Checkpoint"
model linking phase-separated condensates to cGAS/STING innate immunity. Possesses extensive
experience in protein purification from stable cell lines, advanced microscopy (smFISH, TEM), and
CRISPR genome editing. Proven track record in research publication, grant writing, trainee mentorship,
and cross-team scientific collaboration.
Experience
Research Scientist
Construct stable mammalian cell lines (U2OS, HEK 293T) for the purification and characterization of complex ribonucleoprotein assemblies (AGO2 complexes) for structural and biochemical analysis.
Investigated AGO2-RISC assembly via molecular chaperones.
Studied the mechanism of Ago2 in promoting the translation of ST6GAL1.
Mentored graduate students and assisted undergraduates in experimental design, molecular biology techniques, and data analysis.

Developed the "Condensate Checkpoint" model and established cellular/biochemical assays to detect checkpoint breaching and quantify downstream cGAS/STING pathway activation.
Investigated the spatial organization of biomolecular condensates (Stress Granules, Processing Bodies, DDR foci) and their role in regulating endogenous nucleic acid metabolism and innate immunity.
Studied the intersection of genome instability, PARylation, and chromatin silencing at DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs).
