In 2009 we expanded our Middle East offering by opening an office in Dubai to service the Middle East North and Sub-Saharan Africa Turkey and Commonwealth of Independent States/Former Soviet Union states. With comprehensive products and deep underwriting expertise we can cover a wide range of business risks and find solutions to even the most complex challenges. QBE Insurance Middle East is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority and is licensed to carry on Financial Services with or for professional clients.

Underwriting Manager Financial Lines

Your new role

• Develop and communicate a strategic vision for department growth.
• Manage the underwriting team to ensure risk quality and proper insurance to value.
• Foster a collaborative approach to growing the business.
• Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines following regulations.
• Leverage technical expertise to expand customer base in collaboration with sales and marketing.
• Drive standardisation of underwriting across assigned business line(s).
• Capitalise on opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Develop sustainable underwriting operations for business line(s).

About you

• Minimum of 6 years experience as a Financial Lines Underwriter/Broker.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Communication influencing and negotiation skills
• Ability to prioritize achieve targets and deadlines analytical and problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language/ Arabic language is a nice to have.
• Knowledge of local insurance industry regulations and statutory processes.
• Ability to manage a team.
