Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to maintain calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems across our production facility. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience with process instrumentation in a continuous manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform installation calibration maintenance and repair of field instruments including transmitters sensors flow meters pressure gauges level instruments and control valves
Troubleshoot instrumentation faults and loop failures using appropriate testing equipment and documentation
Conduct routine instrument checks and calibrations in accordance with maintenance schedules
Maintain instrumentation records calibration certificates and maintenance logs in the CMMS
Support DCS/PLC operations and assist with control system diagnostics
Interpret and work from instrument loop diagrams P&IDs and instrument data sheets
Adhere strictly to PTW LOTO and site safety procedures
Coordinate with process and operations teams to minimise production disruptions during maintenance activities
Support planned and unplanned shutdowns from an instrumentation perspective
Identify opportunities to improve instrument reliability and performance
Requirements
Diploma or trade certificate in Instrumentation Electronics or Control Engineering
Minimum 2 4 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in a process or manufacturing plant
Hands-on experience with HART communicators and calibration tools
Ability to interpret P&IDs loop diagrams and instrument data sheets
Working knowledge of DCS/PLC systems and control loops
Familiarity with PTW and LOTO safety procedures
Basic proficiency in English for technical communication
Willingness to work in rotating shifts
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in paper pulp chemicals or continuous process industries
Knowledge of SCADA systems and fieldbus protocols (HART Foundation Fieldbus Profibus)
