Student Support Mentor (UAEN)
Job Summary
Position Overview
The Student Success Mentor (SSM) serves as the primary mentor facilitator and cohort leader for a group of approximately 2530 scholarship students participating in the Student Program.
The SSM is responsible for supporting student engagement attendance participation project-based learning and overall student well-being throughout the program. Acting as a mentor and facilitator the SSM guides students through workshops discussions team activities and a cohort-based mini-project helping them develop the skills confidence and readiness required for a successful transition to university life abroad.
The Student Success Mentor plays a critical role in creating a positive supportive and engaging learning environment while fostering leadership collaboration cultural awareness and personal growth among participants.
Key Responsibilities
Student Mentorship & Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned cohort of 2530 students.
Build positive and supportive relationships with students throughout the program.
Guide studying abroad university life cultural adaptation and personal development.
Support student well-being and identify students who may require additional assistance.
Foster a safe inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants.
Facilitation & Student Engagement
Facilitate cohort discussions reflection sessions team-building activities and learning exercises.
Encourage active participation and engagement during workshops and program activities.
Support guest speakers trainers and workshop facilitators during sessions.
Promote peer-to-peer learning and collaboration among students.
Lead daily check-ins and cohort debrief sessions.
Cohort Project Facilitation
Guide students through a cohort-based mini-project during the program.
Facilitate brainstorming planning teamwork and project execution.
Support students in developing creative solutions and presentations.
Coach students on communication collaboration and presentation skills.
Assist students in preparing and delivering final project presentations.
Attendance & Cohort Management
Monitor and record daily attendance.
Track student participation and engagement throughout the program.
Ensure assigned students are present informed and prepared for all sessions and activities.
Maintain accurate attendance and engagement records.
Escalate attendance behavioral or welfare concerns to program management when required.
Program Operations Support
Assist with student registration and orientation activities.
Support event logistics and student movement between sessions and activities.
Communicate schedules updates and program expectations to assigned students.
Represent the program professionally at all times.
Contribute to the overall success and smooth operation of the Pre-Departure Program.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Bachelors degree (completed within the last 5 years preferred).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Passion for youth development education and student success.
Ability to engage motivate and mentor young adults.
Professional approachable and positive attitude.
Fluent in English.
Preferred
Former scholarship recipient or study-abroad participant.
Experience in mentoring coaching facilitation education youth programs student leadership camps or events.
Ability to communicate in both Arabic and English.
