Job Summary
Civil Site Engineer – Duties & Responsibilities
1. Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day construction activities on site.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, foremen, and workers for smooth operations.
- Monitor progress and ensure project timelines are met.
2. Technical & Drawing Review
- Study and interpret construction drawings and BOQs.
- Ensure proper implementation of design details on site.
- Coordinate with consultants and designers for clarifications.
- Report discrepancies or design issues immediately.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure all materials and workmanship meet required quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare inspection requests (IRs).
- Monitor concrete works, masonry, finishing, and structural activities.
- Coordinate with QA/QC engineers for approvals.
4. Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with site safety regulations and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure workers use proper PPE at all times.
5. Material Management
- Plan and request required materials in advance.
- Verify delivered materials against specifications and quantities.
- Coordinate with procurement and store teams.
- Monitor material usage to avoid wastage.
6. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with consultants, clients, and project managers.
- Coordinate with MEP teams and other disciplines.
- Attend site meetings and provide updates.
- Ensure proper communication between all stakeholders.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site reports and progress updates.
- Prepare work schedules and progress tracking reports.
- Record site activities, delays, and issues.
- Assist in preparation of as-built drawings.
8. Surveying & Setting Out
- Perform site setting out using drawings and coordinates.
- Check levels, alignment, and dimensions.
- Coordinate with surveyors for accuracy.
9. Cost Control & Productivity
- Monitor labor productivity and resource allocation.
- Assist in minimizing project costs and avoiding delays.
- Report any variations or additional works.
10. Project Closeout
- Ensure completion of works as per project scope.
- Assist in snagging and de-snagging activities.
- Coordinate handover procedures and final inspections.
