Civil Site Engineer – Duties & Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Supervision

• Supervise day-to-day construction activities on site.
• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, foremen, and workers for smooth operations.
• Monitor progress and ensure project timelines are met.

2. Technical & Drawing Review

• Study and interpret construction drawings and BOQs.
• Ensure proper implementation of design details on site.
• Coordinate with consultants and designers for clarifications.
• Report discrepancies or design issues immediately.

3. Quality Control

• Ensure all materials and workmanship meet required quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare inspection requests (IRs).
• Monitor concrete works, masonry, finishing, and structural activities.
• Coordinate with QA/QC engineers for approvals.

4. Health & Safety Compliance

• Ensure compliance with site safety regulations and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure workers use proper PPE at all times.

5. Material Management

• Plan and request required materials in advance.
• Verify delivered materials against specifications and quantities.
• Coordinate with procurement and store teams.
• Monitor material usage to avoid wastage.

6. Coordination & Communication

• Liaise with consultants, clients, and project managers.
• Coordinate with MEP teams and other disciplines.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates.
• Ensure proper communication between all stakeholders.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily site reports and progress updates.
• Prepare work schedules and progress tracking reports.
• Record site activities, delays, and issues.
• Assist in preparation of as-built drawings.

8. Surveying & Setting Out

• Perform site setting out using drawings and coordinates.
• Check levels, alignment, and dimensions.
• Coordinate with surveyors for accuracy.

9. Cost Control & Productivity

• Monitor labor productivity and resource allocation.
• Assist in minimizing project costs and avoiding delays.
• Report any variations or additional works.

10. Project Closeout

• Ensure completion of works as per project scope.
• Assist in snagging and de-snagging activities.
• Coordinate handover procedures and final inspections.
