Principal Geotechnical Engineer - Dubai

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Leading the provision of geostructures advice and design to a multi-disciplinary project team taking technical and commercial geotechnical delivery for projects
• Supervising the planning and delivery of Geostructures analysis using various proprietary tools
• Guiding less experienced engineers to deliver analysis and design
• Assisting in the career development of others
• Providing new ideas or approaches to ground engineering challenges
• Carrying out research and development of new ideas and products to enable Ramboll to provide sustainable solutions for society
• Carrying out technical and commercial bidding for new projects and contracts
• Supporting the team leader to build the Geostructures business in Denmark and overseas.  

Qualifications :

• Good quality BEng degree with reasonable geotechnical engineering or engineering geology content
• A masters degree or higher that focuses on geotechnical engineering or engineering geology would be of benefit but this can be replaced with good industry experience of more than 15 years
• Proven ability to guide and supervise complex analyses retaining structures or complex foundations
• Past experience of rock engineering and/or geo-seismic engineering would be a benefit
• Good written and oral communication skills in English and Danish or German
• Good experience of the use of commercial controls needed to deliver work in a manner that meets our business objectives

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: ability to investigate new ideas and not rely on tried and trusted methods; good oral communication skills to enable interaction with colleagues of varying experience and background both in person and online; willingness to supervise and develop less experienced engineers; desire to identify and deliver growth within the existing business.
