A leading industrial paper manufacturing facility located in Abu Dhabi UAE this organisation is the first and largest producer of printing and writing paper in the GCC and MENA region. Operating across a 250000 sqm industrial site the facility produces high-quality uncoated woodfree paper reels folio-size paper and cut-size finished goods with an annual production capacity of 325000 metric tonnes. The organisation exports its products to over 50 countries across six continents and operates in full compliance with global environmental standards sourcing pulp exclusively from certified sustainable forests.
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records supporting month-end processes and ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger entries
Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
Perform bank reconciliations intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet schedules
Assist in the preparation of budgets forecasts and variance analysis
Ensure timely and accurate VAT filing in compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements
Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation
Maintain fixed asset register and process depreciation entries
Liaise with vendors procurement and operations teams on financial matters
Ensure compliance with IFRS and company financial policies and procedures
Assist with payroll processing and related accounting entries
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
Minimum 2 4 years of accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Proficiency in Tagalog language (written and spoken) - required for internal documentation and communication purposes
Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential
Strong working knowledge of UAE VAT regulations
Experience with ERP accounting systems (SAP Oracle or similar)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced industrial environment
Preferred Qualifications
CPA ACCA CMA or equivalent professional qualification (completed or in progress)
Prior experience in the manufacturing or paper industry
Familiarity with Abu Dhabi-based regulatory and compliance requirements
