Foreman- Civil (Bridge Maintenance)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to supervise and coordinate bridge maintenance activities ensuring the safe efficient and high-quality execution of structural repair and maintenance works on bridges and associated infrastructure assets. The successful candidate will lead site teams coordinate subcontractors monitor work progress and ensure compliance with project specifications quality standards and HSE requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Bridge Maintenance Operations
- Supervise and execute preventive and corrective maintenance works on bridge structures and associated civil assets.
- Oversee activities including concrete repairs crack injection patch repairs structural strengthening waterproofing joint replacement bearing maintenance masonry works protective coating applications and drainage system maintenance.
- Ensure maintenance works are carried out in accordance with approved method statements drawings specifications and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate access arrangements for bridge maintenance works including scaffolding access platforms rope access teams and traffic management requirements.
Site Supervision & Workforce Management
- Lead and supervise civil technicians skilled tradesmen scaffolders subcontractors and maintenance crews.
- Allocate daily work assignments and monitor workforce productivity.
- Ensure manpower tools equipment and materials are available to meet maintenance schedules.
- Provide technical guidance to site personnel and resolve day-to-day site issues.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular inspections of ongoing works to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.
- Verify that repair materials and workmanship meet approved standards.
- Coordinate inspections with Engineers Consultants and Client representatives.
- Ensure proper documentation of completed repairs and maintenance activities.
Health Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Enforce compliance with project HSE requirements and safe work procedures.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and site safety briefings.
- Ensure safe execution of works at height over water within confined spaces and near live traffic where applicable.
- Monitor the proper use of PPE access systems lifting equipment and safety controls.
- Report and address unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
Material & Equipment Management
- Monitor material usage and maintain adequate stock levels for maintenance activities.
- Coordinate procurement requests for repair materials consumables tools and equipment.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of site equipment and access systems.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily progress reports manpower records work completion reports and inspection records.
- Update maintenance management systems and assist in preparing maintenance reports.
- Record completed works defects identified and corrective actions taken.
- Support project handover documentation and close-out activities.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with Project Engineers Maintenance Engineers QA/QC personnel HSE teams subcontractors and Client representatives.
- Support emergency bridge maintenance and urgent repair activities when required.
- Assist in planning maintenance shutdowns inspections and special repair projects.
Qualifications :
Education
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Civil Engineering Construction Technology or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 58 years of experience in civil maintenance or construction works with at least 3 years in a Foreman role.
- Proven experience in bridge maintenance bridge rehabilitation infrastructure maintenance highways or structural repair projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of bridge structures concrete repair techniques waterproofing systems expansion joints bearings drainage systems and protective coatings.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings repair details specifications and method statements.
- Familiarity with bridge inspection findings and maintenance practices.

Additional Information :
- Experience working on highway bridges flyovers interchanges and major infrastructure assets.
- Familiarity with access systems including scaffolding mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) and rope access operations.
- Knowledge of UAE bridge maintenance standards and safety regulations.
- Valid UAE Driving License preferred.
