Job Summary
Job Summary
The Fire Truck Driver Operator safely drives fire appliances and associated equipment to support fire and emergency response across the organisations sites. You will complete daily vehicle checks attend incident scenes support firefighting and rescue activities as directed and assist with routine maintenance cleaning and equipment stowage. Working within a multi-disciplinary team you will maintain compliance with road and safety regulations and contribute to training exercises and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation & Driving
Drive fire appliances and ancillary vehicles safely and lawfully to and from incidents exercises and station duties
Use defensive driving techniques and follow road traffic legislation and emergency driving policies
Operate pumps ladders and ancillary equipment during operational duties
Pre-shift Checks & Maintenance
Complete pre- and post-shift vehicle and equipment checks record findings and report defects
Support routine maintenance cleaning and minor servicing to keep equipment in readiness
Ensure correct stowage and inventory of firefighting and rescue equipment
Operational Support & Response
Support firefighting rescue and other emergency tasks as directed by the incident commander or senior crew
Operate and assist with pumps hose reels lighting and other appliance-mounted systems under supervision
Assist with scene safety traffic management and casualty support where appropriate
Health Safety & Compliance
Follow health and safety policies safe systems of work and PPE requirements
Meet regulatory and organisational requirements for inspections maintenance records and driver qualifications
Report incidents near misses and vehicle defects promptly and support investigations
Training & Professional Development
Attend training drills and competency assessments for driving and operational support tasks
Maintain required driver licences endorsements and medical fitness to drive heavy emergency vehicles
Share knowledge and learn from exercises and incidents
Administration & Reporting
Complete vehicle logbooks defect reports and operational records accurately and on time
Support rostering and availability records and communicate changes promptly
Provide requested input to performance and fleet management information
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
Full UAE driving licence with the appropriate category for the appliance and any required vocational licences or endorsements
Relevant vocational training or certificates in appliance operation or pump operation desirable
Experience
Previous experience in fire rescue emergency services or similar environments advantageous
Demonstrable track record of safe driving and working under operational pressure preferred
