Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a leading Landscaping Company based out of Abu Dhabi UAE. Our client is looking to hire a Director of Technical Engineering to provide strategic leadership technical direction and operational oversight across all engineering and design functions.
This role will lead the technical vision and delivery of complex landscaping and infrastructure projectsensuring innovation sustainability and quality at every stage. The ideal candidate will combine deep engineering expertise with strong leadership skills to deliver exceptional landscape solutions aligned with the companys growth and performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the engineering strategy to support the companys long-term goals.
- Promote innovation digital tools and process improvements to keep the organization competitive.
- Advise senior leadership on technical issues new technologies and engineering best practices.
- Ensure all engineering activities align with business goals cost efficiency and sustainability objectives.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning design and execution of large-scale engineering projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Identify potential risks and develop solutions to keep projects on track.
- Anticipate potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain smooth project execution.
Compliance & Quality:
- Guarantee all work complies with UAE regulations and international standards (e.g. ISO ASME OSHA).
- Conduct safety and quality audits to maintain operational integrity.
- Embed sustainable and environmentally friendly practices into engineering operations.
- Integrate sustainable design principles and water-efficient landscaping systems to support ESG goals and environmental commitments.
Team Leadership:
- Lead mentor and develop a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.
- Foster a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous learning.
- Manage team resources and support career development through training and coaching.
- Support employee training professional development and performance management initiatives.
Stakeholder & Operational Management:
- Build strong relationships with clients contractors and government authorities.
- Represent the company in technical meetings and negotiations.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil Mechanical Electrical or related field) is required.
- A Masters degree in Engineering Management or Business Administration is preferred.
- Professional certifications (e.g. PMP Chartered Engineer) are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 18 years of experience in engineering project management or technical operations within facilities management construction or infrastructure.
- At least 10 years in a senior leadership role managing teams and large-scale projects.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proven ability to provide strategic direction and lead engineering teams.
- Strong technical knowledge of engineering design and project management.
- In-depth understanding of UAE laws and international engineering standards.
- Excellent leadership and talent development skills.
- Outstanding communication negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with engineering software and data analysis tools.
