Key Responsibilities

• Shall be capable of preparing Signal List from Schematics and other applicable documents.

• Shall have sufficient knowledge to prepare Interlocking documents from Main PLD.

• Responsible for the Field Services activity of the Substation Automation Systems including DCS/SCS RTU and Cyber security.

• Take the complete ownership of technical activities for assigned projects (EHS coordination and follow up Site Survey Engineering Design Follow Up and Support Panels Integration Pre-FAT Internal Validation FAT with customer Supervise Site installations Conduct Site Testing and commissioning Site Red mark-up and As Built Drawings system troubleshooting and rectification.

• Perform coordinate and record tests for digital inputs controls measurements interlocks IEC61850 IEDs and SCADA signals.

• Perform coordinate and record tests for SCS/CS complex functionalities and NCC/DCC with standard protocols.

• Inform and report on time to the SCS Engineer in charge.

• Prepare As-Built documentation for SCS documents (consoles data lists IP address plans connectivity drawings).

• Create backups for PCs switches GPS equipment & other DCS equipments installed at the site.

• Demonstrate good communication and writing skills with experience in preparing and presenting reports to multiple persons.

• Lead the design of the Substation LAN networks configuration of industrial computers ethernet switches Firewall routers and satellite clocks according to project design.

• Lead the installation of the SCS system at the site (Fiber optic layout PC installation at panels SCS consoles wiring CS installation and testing).

• Prepare and install labels for Fiber optics and Ethernet cables.

• Project planning to ensure timely achievement of project milestones as per project schedule

• Shall experience in troubleshooting of network connectivity at field

• Shall have sufficient knowledge Industrial protocols covering IEC61850 DNP3 IEC101/104 ModBUS etc.

• Manage resource planning and workload to ensure a 90% and above billable ratio for assigned projects/sites.

• Support the operations team to control projects effectively in terms of budgeted profitability planning and general reporting (internal/external). Ensure that agreements with customers for documentation lead times delivery reliability and quality are achieved within the budgetary constraints agreed upon within the unit.

• Coordinate workplace EHS issues and ensure the availability of suitable PPE for T&C personnel both internal and subcontracted.

• Ensure commitments to customers are met in accordance with the contract with clear feedback through consistent customer interaction (e.g. communication via phone email etc.) and customer meetings periodic reviews etc. for assigned projects/sites.

• Knowledge of schemes and application of IEDs (e.g. BCUs BMPs BCUPs protection relays controllers etc.) in electrical networks including HV & EHV systems and state-of-the-art technologies in substation automation.

• Knowledge of competitor products is advantageous.

• Shall have knowledge about HMI designing preferable GPG AVIEW Zenon etc

• Experience in managing sites for control systems is a distinct advantage.

• Revise drawings against comments and replying to customer / Consultant comments.

• Provide technical clarification to Suppliers/Customers.

• Coordinating with panel manufacturer.

• Representing GE Vernova before customer & consultants in technical discussions and workshop.

• Providing input and securing design documents of required quality on time from design out-sourcing partners.

• Assisting and guiding a small team of draftsmen in their daily design

• activities to bring out collaborative performance.

• Able to handle the testing panel integration and internal validation at GEV facility.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in electronic/electrical engineering or related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in DCS (Distributed Control System) SCS (Substation Control System) Experienced in DS Agile PACiS GPG G500 and D2xx RTUs solutions etc.

• Minimum of 3 years of working experience in high voltage substation control system for engineering and field activities

• Strong knowledge in integration the protection main relays and busbar with DCS/SCS systems

• Ability to understand and implement technical drawings (wiring diagram P&ID General Arrangement etc)

• Knowledge of Sequencing & interlocking principles used in substation automation systems and their implementation on IEC61850 IEDs

• Knowledge of Cyber security solutions implementation in the field of Substation Automation

• Strong communication skills in English

• This role requires 100% travel across the region

Desired Characteristics

• PMP certification is an advantage but not compulsory.

• Fluency in Arabic is an advantage

• Strong knowledge in Conventional Control System (CCS) and cyber security system implementation and design activities.

• Strong knowledge in field devices instruments and CCS systems.

• Knowledge of schemes and application of protection relays in electrical networks including HV & EHV systems and state-of-the-art technologies in substation automation.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel.

• Ability to read / interpret tender / contract documentation schematics procedures and policy guidelines.

• Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.

• Ability to define problems collect relevant data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

• Ability to work on multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines work under pressure take ownership of onsite activities.

• Experience of managing projects for protection and control systems is a distinct advantage.

• Willing to travel in country and worldwide and to work over-time.

• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.

• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
