Job Description for Welfare Assistant

Core purposes:
- To ensure children are safe and well supervised on the bus
- To ensure the school is spotlessly clean at all times
Key duties include:
- Working as a bus monitor at the start and end of the day transporting children to and from school safely.
- Managing pupil behaviour in a positive manner and being a positive role model in line with The Aquila Way on behaviour e.g. giving golden tickets acknowledging children who have made good choices etc.
- Keeping all areas of the school spotlessly clean.
- To ensure confidentiality at all times i.e. - never discussing any aspect of the work of the school other than with colleagues in school.
- To maintain stock levels and keep account of consumables.
In addition all staff are required to carry out any tasks required by the school or the regional office to facilitate the smooth day to day running of the school.
To be line managed by the facilities manager and welfare supervisor.
Hours of work- 9 hours per day from Monday to Friday plus 4 hours on Sunday.
Holidays- 30 working days paid leave and pro-rata for each uncompleted year.
The annual leave year runs from September to August. Leave can be taken after successful completion of the probation period and only during school breaks.
