Overview
As an Assistant Resident Engineer Civil (OHL) you will support the Resident Engineer in supervising and managing the construction of Overhead Line (OHL) projects ensuring that all works are executed in accordance with design specifications quality standards and safety requirements. You will play a key role in site supervision contractor coordination and compliance monitoring contributing to the successful delivery of transmission and infrastructure projects.
Your role
- Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising civil works related to Overhead Line (OHL) construction including foundations access roads and associated infrastructure.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with design drawings specifications and project standards.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure quality control procedures are implemented effectively.
- Review and verify contractor submissions such as method statements material approvals and shop drawings.
- Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental regulations on site.
- Coordinate with contractors consultants and project stakeholders to resolve technical and site-related issues.
- Maintain accurate site records daily reports and progress updates.
- Assist in reviewing project schedules and monitoring construction progress against timelines.
- Support the Resident Engineer in managing site documentation variations and contractual matters.
- Participate in site meetings and contribute to reporting on project status and risks.
About you
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 58 years of experience in civil construction preferably in transmission line or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in Overhead Line (OHL) foundation works and related civil structures is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies quality standards and safety practices.
- Familiarity with relevant codes standards and regulations in the UAE/GCC region is an advantage.
- Good communication and coordination skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to review technical drawings and construction documents.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of project management tools is beneficial.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work on-site and travel as required.
