Job Summary
Apt Resources is looking for a skilled Accountant to join the team of our clients mining operations in Angola. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations ensuring accurate financial reporting compliance with regulations and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This position requires strong analytical skills attention to detail and a proactive approach to financial management.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements management reports and budget-versus-actual analyses.
- Monitor control and analyze project or departmental costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets and financial targets.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable including invoicing collections payments and reconciliations.
- Oversee cash flow management to ensure sufficient liquidity and efficient use of funds.
- Support payroll processing to ensure timely accurate and compliant employee compensation.
- Conduct financial audits and reviews to ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with operational teams to track financial performance and key metrics.
- Assist with tax compliance filings and statutory reporting requirements.
- Implement and continuously improve internal controls accounting processes and financial procedures.
- Perform all general accounting functions as required.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting budgeting and cost control principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (SAP Oracle or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
