Role Overview
Position: Consultant / Specialist Gastrointestinal Surgeon
Location: Dubai United Arab Emirates
Hospital Type: Private / Government / Multispecialty / Tertiary Care (JCI-accredited)
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years post board certification
Clinical Scope: Gastrointestinal surgery hepatobiliary surgery minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures
The successful candidate will manage complex gastrointestinal surgical cases while working closely with gastroenterologists oncologists and critical care teams.

Key Responsibilities Gastrointestinal Surgery
Diagnose and surgically manage gastrointestinal conditions including colorectal diseases hepatobiliary disorders and upper GI pathologies.
Perform a wide range of open and minimally invasive surgical procedures including laparoscopic and advanced GI surgeries.
Manage gastrointestinal oncology cases including cancers of the stomach colon liver pancreas and biliary tract in collaboration with multidisciplinary tumor boards.
Conduct preoperative assessment surgical planning and postoperative care ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Perform procedures such as colectomy gastrectomy hepatectomy cholecystectomy and pancreatic surgeries.
Collaborate with gastroenterologists oncologists radiologists and ICU teams for integrated patient management.
Participate in emergency surgical services including acute abdomen and GI bleeding cases.
Ensure adherence to clinical governance patient safety protocols and international surgical standards.
Contribute to clinical audits research and continuous medical education initiatives.
Mentor junior doctors and surgical trainees where applicable.
Maintain accurate and compliant electronic medical records and documentation.
