Senior Durability Engineer
Job Summary
- Service Life Design: Utilize numerical modeling to predict the service life of new structures and define performance requirements to meet owner objectives.
- Material Selection & Testing: Develop and test specialized concrete mixtures including studying permeability creep shrinkage and resistance to corrosion or chemical attack.
- Structural Assessment: Conduct site visits condition surveys and forensic evaluations of existing concrete structures to identify damage mechanisms.
- Rehabilitation Strategy: Design repair methods and maintenance plans for concrete infrastructure to extend its usable life.
- Code Compliance: Ensure designs and material specifications comply with relevant technical codes and standards (e.g. ACI ASTM).
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering Materials Science or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of concrete microstructure hydration and degradation mechanisms (corrosion ASR sulfates).
- Field Experience: Experience in laboratory testing of concrete and site inspection.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in service life modeling software (e.g. STADIUM) or structural analysis tools.
