Role Overview
Prepares documentation maintains records and coordinates logistics for international product shipment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Schedules and coordinates international air sea and land freight transactions
- Ensures freight transactions are selected based on company objectives for cost and delivery
- Prepares Import/Export documentation including but not limited to Letters of Credit Shipping Letter of Instruction invoices and packing lists
- Applies harmonized codes and export licensing as required
- Maintains the shipping records including providing tracking or shipping history information on request
- Interfaces with brokers and freight forwarders to obtain compliance with company requirements
- Coordinates with freight forwarders to merge or consolidate shipments
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure shipments are consistent with customer requirements to support the timely delivery and to communicate to the field regarding order requests Prepares Shipping paperwork as well as completes shipping transaction in appropriate systems
- Proactively resolves and escalates delivery issues to appropriate personnel
- Comply with EHS & Quality System regulations and policies
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
- Perform warehouse distribution duties in compliance with current GDP as per annual GDP Training and local procedures (Core Imaging Only)
- To manage and own Gate 2 (repair and kitting cycle) metrics through liaison with technicians and planning teams. Report progress toward Gate 2 targets to keep site Lead Material Planning and Execution Specialist informed of any concerns which require additional support.
- To create order demand in SAP (On Wing Support Portal) including creation/duplication of internal material demand with both internal and external sources. Use discretion on bulk ordering to decrease number of POs issued and number of packages to receive.
- To perform routine analysis of frequently consumed part numbers and respond with effective actions for kitting and bundling opportunities at the OWS site. To effectively implement MRP set up ( in SAP) and inventory management tasks for an effective Gate 2 management.
- To perform standard work including:
- align vendor delivery dates to engine G2 accumulation date escalate shortfalls pursue solutions.
- Quarterly reviews and management of supplier scorecard.
- First time set-up of vendors and suppliers in SAP required for ordering and receiving of materials flowing in or out of facility escalates shortfalls logistics management and to keep track of all inbound/ outbound shipments.
- Ensure shipments to and from the facility are completed within expected shipment times escalate shortfalls pursue solutions. Allocate applicable shipping/freight charges to appropriate SAP SVN. To allocate invoices associated with freight shipments.
- Ensure adequate & compliant supply of Chemicals & Consumables required by the facility escalate shortfalls pursue solutions.
- Ensure compliant disposition of Scrap hardware and/or low demand/obsolete inventory.
- Understand import/export/ITC requirements. Create Commercial invoices for parts/tools/materials coming into our going out of the facility.
- Manage reports submission as required by the business.
- Comply with Safety requirements complete training per schedule participate in investigations and read-across as requested promptly identify safety issues work with team to pursue solutions and escalate issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Warehouse Logistics and/or Supply Chain Operations)
- Masters Degree in Supply Chain Management/ MBA in operations management is desirable.
- Dangerous goods qualified would be desirable.
