Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

The client is a single-family office that manages a well-diversified portfolio of investments across public and private markets. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Investment Analyst to join their team and play a critical role in their investment processes and portfolio management.

Job Description

  • Lead Investment Research & Screening: Identify, evaluate, and screen new investment opportunities across various asset classes, conducting thorough due diligence and financial analysis to assess risks and returns.
  • Market Research & Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a strong pipeline of investment opportunities through proactive research and networking within relevant markets.
  • Investment Manager Relationships: Cultivate and maintain relationships with external investment managers, conducting comprehensive due diligence on their strategies, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Portfolio Monitoring & Analysis: Conduct regular reviews of the investment portfolio, including rebalancing and performance analysis, to ensure optimal returns and risk management.
  • Investment Reporting: Prepare detailed investment memos, presentations, and reports for decision-making by the investment committee and board, and assist in periodic performance reporting.
  • Support Strategic Investment Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of the family office's strategic investment plan, helping to align individual investments with broader financial goals.

The Successful Applicant

  • CFA Charter Holder or MBA from a top-tier institution
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant multi-asset class investment experience. Generalist experience across various asset classes and sectors is required
  • Proficiency in investment management software and tools
  • Highly adaptable with excellent time-management and multi-tasking abilities
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism

Desired candidate profile

  1. Research and Analysis: Conducting in-depth research on companies, industries, and market trends to identify potential investment opportunities.

  2. Financial Modeling: Creating and maintaining financial models to forecast company performance and assess valuation.

  3. Due Diligence: Performing thorough analyses of financial statements, business models, and operational performance to assess risks and returns.

  4. Report Preparation: Compiling research findings and analyses into clear, concise reports and presentations for stakeholders.

  5. Market Monitoring: Keeping track of market developments, economic indicators, and news that may impact investments.

  6. Portfolio Management Support: Assisting in the management of investment portfolios, including performance tracking and rebalancing strategies.

  7. Risk Assessment: Evaluating investment risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.

  8. Collaboration: Working with other analysts, portfolio managers, and clients to align investment strategies with goals.
