Estimating Manager

Company Overview: Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Estimating Manager with successful and progressive experience in oversight of the Estimating Department, including assisting with the selection of bid opportunities, setting up the estimate in conformance with current costs, ensuring that the work is bid properly, and ensuring that management s corporate goals are reflected in the output of the Estimating Department.

Position Summary: The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 10 years of complex highway, piling, bridge, and marine construction experience, A minimum of 8 years in a supervisory estimating position working on projects valued more than $100 million and A minimum of 3 years of design/build experience with large public heavy/civil projects.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, direct, and monitor the efforts of the Estimating staff daily.
  
• Participate in the bid research process and the review of upcoming projects to determine compatibility with corporate goals
  
• Manage the overall bid and/or proposal process for multiple concurrent projects
  
• Actively participate in estimate preparation
  
• Ensure that estimates are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with the specifications, our current procedures and ready for review by senior management

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of HCSS is a prerequisite for employment
  
• Bachelor s degree in civil engineering or construction-related field
  
• Excellent computer skills
  
• Experience with computerized takeoff and/or design programs
  
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced, challenging environment as an integral part of a team
