Job Title: Senior Design Engineer
Job Summary
A highly skilled Senior Design Engineer is required to lead and manage complex engineering design projects from concept through to completion. The role involves ensuring technical accuracy optimizing design efficiency and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality cost-effective engineering solutions aligned with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and development of engineering projects ensuring adherence to technical specifications and timelines.
- Develop innovative design concepts and translate them into detailed engineering drawings and models.
- Conduct comprehensive design reviews to identify potential risks errors and optimization opportunities before prototype or production stages.
- Prepare and maintain accurate engineering documentation including schematics layouts specifications and technical reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing quality procurement and testing to ensure design feasibility and cost efficiency.
- Perform engineering calculations simulations and analyses to validate design performance and compliance.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards safety regulations and client requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members.
- Participate in project planning budgeting and resource allocation for design activities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders clients and vendors to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
Requirements
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks AutoCAD or equivalent design tools.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles including:
- Mechanics
- Thermodynamics
- Fluid Dynamics
- Mechanics
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools (FEA CFD etc.).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Familiarity with international engineering standards and codes.
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks. Proficiency in creating 3D models Piping Isometrics GA drawings and Piping -depth knowledge of Piping BOM MTO and Piping Material Specifications (PMS). Familiarity with piping support systems and basic understanding of stress analysis. Solid understanding of P&ID for boilers and power plants. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions. Strong leadership abilities to manage and guide a team towards successful project completion.
Required Education:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) or Bachelors Degree in Engineering (BE) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the design stream.
