Safety Officer - AlBorg Diagnostics

AlBorg Diagnostics a leading provider of diagnostic health services is seeking a Safety Officer to join their team. As the Safety Officer you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of employees customers and visitors.

Responsibilities include monitoring and improving safety protocols conducting safety inspections implementing safety training programs and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Implement safety training programs to educate employees on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
• Investigate accidents and near misses identify root causes and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
• Manage and maintain safety records incident reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and implement safety initiatives and promote a culture of safety.
• Stay uptodate with safety regulations industry trends and emerging best practices.
• Monitoring the procurement use and disposal of chemicals used in the lab.
• Ensuring that appropriate selfinspections are maintained.
• Providing input to PIs/Supervisors on developing precautions and adequate facilities.
• Knowing the current legal requirements concerning regulated substances.
• Seeking ways to improve the chemical hygiene program
• Follow up with the MOH for continuous surveillance updates.
• Conduct regular drills with the civil defence.

In addition the safety officer is part of the labs quality team and is responsible for improving the labs safety culture using education training and coaching as well as completing routine tasks that help ensure safety and compliance

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field.
• Professional certification in Safety such as CSP CIH or NEBOSH is preferred.
• 25 years of experience in safety management preferably in a healthcare or laboratory setting.
• Knowledge of local and international safety regulations and standards such as (CBAHI) and International standards(JCI&CAP).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problemsolving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
