Position Summary and Requirements:

AGC is seeking an Automation Technician to assist in the technical development of our automation and control systems at multiple underground mining locations and at the Bonanza processing facility. The Automation Technician will assist in design and implementation of PLC networks to include programming and instrumentation installation. The Automation Technician will assist the maintenance department in troubleshooting existing equipment when needed. These responsibilities will include underground work, exposure to noise, dust, and inclement weather and machinery operation. All employees at AGC are expected to seek out and pursue continuous improvement projects with collaboration of stakeholders and this position is no exception. Being successful in this role will require frequent communication with underground miners, plant operators, mechanics, multiple department heads and the general manager thus requiring the Automation Technician to have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing expectations and priorities. This is considered an entry level position therefore site specific and job specific training will be provided, however, if the successful candidate has experience beyond the entry level requirements than the hourly rate will be adjusted accordingly.

• Maintain a high level of hazard recognition and low tolerance for risk
  
• Assist in design and installation of PLC networks and control instrumentation
  
• Responsible for managing continuous improvement projects as appropriate
  
• Assist in equipment troubleshooting and repair as requested
  

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated including managing conflicting priorities
  
• Demonstrated ability to improve continually
  
• Demonstrated willingness to defend your viewpoints
  
• Demonstrated experience with ladder logic and PLC programming
  
• Familiarity with basic electrical principles
  
• Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques
  
• Demonstrated ability to provide high quality communication, both written and orally
  
• Valid driver s license, ability to pass a drug screening and a background check
  
• Exceptions to the above qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis with a preference to current employees
