Job Summary

 

  • Carry out rigging slinging and lifting of heavy construction materials tubular piles sheet piles precast blocks and pontoons.
  • Assist crane operators by giving proper hand signals and radio communication during lifting.
  • Ensure correct load balancing securing and positioning before lifting and lowering.
  • Inspect rigging equipment (slings chains hooks shackles spreader beams ropes) before and after use.
  • Maintain rigging tools in good condition and report defects or damages to the supervisor.
  • Follow HSE regulations and safe lifting practices at all times.
  • Ensure work area is clear before lifting or lowering loads.
  • Wear mandatory PPE (helmet safety shoes life jacket gloves harness).
  • Stop unsafe operations and report hazards immediately.
  • Assist in handling and positioning tubular piles for driving and sheet piles for quay walls and breakwaters.
  • Support construction crew in jetty pontoon quay wall and floating structure installation.
  • Secure loads for barge and pontoon transport.
  • Work closely with site engineers supervisors and crane operators.
  • Use standard rigging hand signals and communication methods.
  • Follow instructions and work as part of a team in marine environments.
  • Comply with site rules permit-to-work systems and method statements.
  • Assist in loading/unloading of materials from trucks barges and pontoons.
  • Carry out any additional duties assigned by the site supervisor or foreman.

 


Qualifications :

  • Minimum 35 years experience as a Rigger in marine or heavy civil construction in UAE.
  • Must hold a valid Rigger Certificate (Level 1/2/3) approved by Dubai Municipality / DM / TUV / DNV / Third-party.
  • Basic understanding of English (reading safety signs instructions).
  • Strong knowledge of rigging & slinging techniques.
  • Teamwork and communication skills with crane operators and site crew.
  • Ability to follow instructions and ensure safety-first approach.
  • Adaptability to work in marine site conditions (on barges pontoons jetties offshore platforms).
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in offshore/marine environments.
