Remote Senior Backend C#. Net Developer (Fintech Proptech Payments Digital Assets)

This is a remote position.

An international product-led fintech and proptech business is scaling its engineering team to build and evolve customer-facing platforms across fractional property ownership tokenised real-estate investment mortgages and the wider home-buying journey. The business is building the technology platform that connects investors buyers brokers financial services and property transactions in a more seamless digital ecosystem.

This is not a ticket-execution role. Engineers are expected to understand the business problem challenge assumptions shape the solution make sound architectural decisions deliver to production measure results and continuously improve the product and engineering environment.

• Design build operate and continuously improve scalable backend services and APIs for customer-facing fintech and proptech products.
  
• Own meaningful features services or product domains end to end: discovery design implementation testing deployment observability incident response and ongoing system health.
  
• Contribute to architecture across microservices service-oriented and event-driven systems including queues messaging asynchronous workflows and serverless components.
  
• Design secure APIs data models and integrations across payments wallets ledgers identity KYC property transactions mortgages and tokenised assets.
  
• Diagnose complex production issues and improve latency throughput reliability security cloud cost and operational efficiency.
  
• Build strong unit integration and automated testing practices and improve CI/CD code review release quality and engineering standards.
  
• Work closely with Product and business teams to connect technical decisions to customer experience growth revenue and operational outcomes.
  
• Mentor and support other engineers while remaining strongly hands-on.
  
• Use modern AI engineering tools responsibly to improve development speed testing debugging documentation and problem-solving.
  

The team values engineering strength and learning ability over exact language matching. Strong candidates may come from one or more of the following modern backend stacks:

Recent hands-on C#/.NET experience is advantageous for roles requiring immediate contribution to the platform.

• Strong software engineering and computer-science fundamentals including maintainable code design patterns debugging and architectural trade-offs.
  
• Experience designing and operating REST APIs backend services system integrations and distributed systems in production.
  
• Microservices and event-driven architecture using messaging queues or streaming technologies such as Kafka RabbitMQ Azure Service Bus or equivalent.
  
• Strong relational database design and SQL experience; exposure to NoSQL data stores is valuable.
  
• Understanding of idempotency retries timeouts partial failure consistency security scalability and reliability.
  
• Cloud experience with Azure AWS or GCP; Azure experience is especially valuable.
  
• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes or equivalent production platforms.
  
• Automated CI/CD and software-delivery practices using Azure DevOps GitHub Actions GitLab CI Jenkins or similar.
  
• Testing ownership across unit integration API and automated regression testing.
  
• Observability and production support using logging monitoring tracing alerting and incident-management practices.
  
• Experience with caching profiling and backend performance optimisation
  
• Approximately 3-8 years relevant experience
  
• At least two years in a product-led technology company startup or scale-up is preferred.
  
• Strong hands-on contribution within the last two years.
  
• Has built and operated customer-facing products or critical transaction platforms.
  
• Progressed from delivering features to owning services platforms product domains or major technical initiatives.
  
• Works effectively through ambiguity without waiting for detailed step-by-step requirements.
  
• Balances delivery speed technical quality customer outcomes and long-term maintainability.
  
• Uses data first-principles thinking and structured reasoning to make decisions.
  
• Demonstrates curiosity urgency intellectual honesty accountability and a bias toward action.
  
• Comfortable receiving direct feedback and challenging ideas constructively.
  
  

Experience in one or more of the following is highly valuable:

• Fintech payments wallets ledgers lending or digital banking products
  
• Proptech mortgages property marketplaces or real-estate transaction platforms
  
• Digital assets blockchain tokenisation crypto or regulated financial infrastructure
  
• High-volume marketplaces e-commerce logistics or other scaled customer-facing platforms
  

• Fully remote for candidates based in Europe Africa or the UAE.
  
• Ability to overlap for at least six hours with the UAE working day of 09:0018:00.
