Black & Grey HR is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our clients Project Controls team on a permanent basis in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for monitoring project costs ensuring expenditure remains within approved budgets preparing client invoices reviewing supplier and subcontractor payments and supporting the commercial and financial performance of offshore projects.
Working closely with Project Controls Commercial Finance Procurement and Project Management teams you will prepare cost reports and forecasts identify cost variances and help ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilties:
- Monitor and control project costs to ensure expenditure remains within approved project budgets.
- Develop maintain and update project budgets cost plans and cost forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Track project commitments expenditures and cost performance identifying budget variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare client receivable invoices in accordance with contractual milestones payment terms and project progress.
- Review and verify supplier subcontractor and vendor invoices to ensure compliance with purchase orders contracts and agreed commercial terms before processing for payment.
- Analyze project financial data identify cost trends and provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and support the implementation of cost reduction initiatives aligned with departmental objectives.
- Prepare detailed cost reports earned value analysis cash flow forecasts and financial summaries for project management and senior leadership.
- Support Project Controls in preparing monthly project cost reports forecasting and management reporting.
- Maintain accurate cost records financial documentation logs and supporting project commercial records.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets financial planning and project close-out cost reconciliation.
- Liaise with Project Managers Procurement Finance Commercial and Contracts teams to ensure financial accuracy and commercial compliance.
- Ensure all commercial activities comply with company procedures contractual obligations and financial governance requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate commercial and financial documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma in Engineering or Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Professional certification such as RICS is an added advantage.
- 4-5 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor supporting Offshore or Oil & Gas projects is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and applicable regulations.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify cost trends.
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare accurate and timely financial and cost reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
