Job Summary:

The Manager Nursing position is responsible for 24-hour comprehensive operational responsibility for the delivery and quality of patient care provided in the designated areas(s) of

Key Responsibilities:

• Fosters interdepartmental/interprofessional collaboration
  
• Participates in committees, representing unit and Nursing in a positive manner
  
• Assists with developing and implementing performance initiatives, ensuring optimal patient safety, outcomes and customer satisfaction
  
• Demonstrates leadership qualities and critical thinking through self-direction, initiative, effective interpersonal skills and oral/written communications
  
• Manages the daily work activities of the work unit/department staff, ensuring quality, productivity, functional excellence and efficiency while assisting management in accomplishing strategic and operational objectives
  
• Provides guidance to staff and is responsible for staffing, budget compliance, contributing to staffing decisions such as hiring and terminating employment, coaching and counseling employees on work related performance, and assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work
  
• Implements training, monitoring and operations initiatives that secure compliance with ethical and legal business practices and accreditation/regulatory/ government
  

Requirements

• BS degree in Nursing (required)
  
• Master s Degree in Nursing / Nursing Leadership (preferred)
  

Required:

• Texas RN license or temporary TX RN license, should obtain permanent license within 90
  
• 3-5 Year of exp in a Nursing Manager (nursing leadership) role and/or similar role within a similar sized hospital (hospital system)
  
• Managed over 50 staff in various nursing, nursing support and other ancillary staff roles
  
• ANCC/NCC Certification in related area: RNC-OB
  
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  
• Compact American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP )
  
• Fetal Heart Monitoring - AWHONN - Intermediate FHM
  
• Strong ability to resolve issues & having crucial conversations with guests, staff and providers
  
• Expert critical thinking skills
  
• Ability to confidently make highly critical decisions
  
• Experience budgeting
  
• Experience Staffing and building units
  
• 10+ years of Labor & Delivery experience
