Black Pearl is currently recruiting for a Market Manager on behalf of a leading utility organization in the UAE.
This strategic role is responsible for monitoring and analyzing electricity and water markets supporting long-term demand and supply planning evaluating market opportunities and engaging with key stakeholders across the utility value chain. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting market development initiatives utility reforms and future generation and water production strategies.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working with Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and Independent Water Producers (IWPs) utility operators regulators transmission companies or power and water procurement entities.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze electricity and water market trends industry developments and regulatory changes.
Conduct market intelligence benchmarking and economic analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Evaluate market opportunities related to power generation water production renewable energy and infrastructure investments.
Support long-term demand forecasting capacity planning and resource adequacy assessments.
Analyze supply-demand dynamics and identify future market requirements.
Engage with IPPs IWPs regulators government entities and industry stakeholders to support market development initiatives.
Support commercial assessments of new power generation and desalination projects.
Review market frameworks procurement models and industry best practices.
Prepare market reports presentations business cases and recommendations for senior management.
Monitor utility sector reforms energy transition initiatives and emerging technologies impacting the industry.
Support strategic planning activities related to electricity and water supply security sustainability and growth.
Requirements
To be considered for this role you need to meet the following criteria:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering Economics Energy Management Finance Business Administration or a related discipline.
Masters Degree is advantageous.
Minimum 812 years of experience within the utilities energy power or water sectors.
Proven experience in market analysis market development energy economics utility planning commercial strategy or regulatory environments.
Strong understanding of electricity and water markets utility operations and industry value chains.
Experience working with:
Independent Power Producers (IPP)
Independent Water Producers (IWP)
Utility authorities
Power and water procurement entities
Transmission and distribution companies
Energy and water regulators
