Job Purpose
- The Lead Process Engineer is responsible for the technical assurance & compliance of the CONTRACTOR to the COMPANYs specific discipline scope process specifications respective governing codes & standards & industry best practices.
- To ensure satisfactory levels of HSE performance from Contractor with respect to all engineering activities.
- To monitor and approve process engineering procedures plans and schedules for execution of the process engineering work scope associated with the witness and approve (as required) contractor and licensor process engineering/design activities for the and trace allexchange of process documents between IPMT and contractors.
- Single point of contact with Licensor contractor and Company regarding process design of the units.
- Supervises IPMT process Engineering Team within scope assigned.
- Provide work direction to IPMT process Engineering Team within scope assigned.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Technical Assurance
- Technical Integrity: Verifying & achieving technical Integrity of respective project deliverable(s) in compliance with:
- Legislation and Regulatory Commitments.
- Codes and Standards.
- Certification.
- Basis of Design.
- Monitor and check the EPC Contractors technical deliverables in order to obtain the required Quality with in time and budget
- Attend internal progress and engineering meetingsas required with the Contractors and Licensors.
- To supervise and ensure the design works of Vendor and Contractor are in accordance with the scope of work and project technical specifications.
- Ensure process engineering schedules are consistent with Company overall Project requirements.
- Support COMPANY in the execution of the works
- Attend internal / external Project reviews and other meetings as necessary.
- Keep up to date with and adhere to Company and Project related procedures.
- When required assist Contractors in their interface management.
- Attend internal progress and engineering meetings as required with the Contractors.
- Participate in continuous risk analysis of the engineering works.
- To manage and audit the work of Contractor and ensure that quality and standards are maintained and costs effective solutions are adopted.
- Provide support and network with Engineering Manager including the coordination between PMC disciplines.
- Review and provide responses to Technical Queries Interface Queries and Concession Requests.
- Identify and analyse negative trends in execution of engineering and initiate corrective actions.
- To ensure that cost-effective solutions and application of value engineering are applied throughout the duration of Project.
- To render professional assistance to Project Management and Project Commercial Group.
- Review and approve the development of the schedule established for process engineering and to control monitor and report Engineering Contractors performance against the schedule.
- Coordinate all communications and meetings with the Contractors regarding process engineering/design requirements as they may arise.
- Review and approve process engineering activities planned by the Contractor to ensure compliance with the Scope of Work and quality objectives of the project.
- Leading and coordinating all process reviews with stakeholders within the project.
- Enforcing the management of project change process.
- Ensure detail design documentation is developed implemented and closed-out to the satisfaction of Company.
- Ensure that the detail design activities are executed in accordance with Company procedures.
- Ensure that detail designs are in accordance with Project HSE requirements.
- Stimulate challenges and support the Contractor to strive for easy/simple solutions and to avoid unnecessary delays to the Project schedule(s).
- To ensure the effective liaison and co-ordination by Contractor between all parties.
- Ensure that all tasks assigned by the Project Manager are completed on time and within budget.
- Attend internal / external Project reviews and other meetings as necessary.
- Keep up to date with and adhere to Company and Project related procedures.
- When required assist Contractors in their interface process engineering works are performed to meet project schedules and that completed works are delivered safely and in a timely manner.
- Support Procurements activities & relevant documents approvals VENDOR documents approval physical inspection as required.
- Support Construction & commissioning activities by involvement in respective Discipline inspections & punch listing activities as applicable for release of respective certifications (DAC/MCetc.)
- Verification of Final discipline specific Documentation & Database at handover & confirm completeness & correctness.
- Supports Project Control within area with monthly reports BPSC presentations etc.
Process/Engineering Change Management
- Review of discipline specific Concession requests issued within the CONTRACT validate the basis of the request & its impact on technical integrity & justification prior to requesting endorsement from Technical authority.
- Monitoring & ensuring that discipline specific design change management is being carried out for all respective engineering changes with proper multidiscipline impact assessment & the same is registered & controlled (as & when required).
Minimum Qualification
- 4 year bachelors degree in engineering is must
- Must be fluent in English language (Written & Spoken).
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- A bachelors degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including a minimum of five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position on major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects managing a team of Specialists Senior Engineers and Engineers.
- Offshore project experience is required.
- ADNOC experience is preferred.
- Process management experience.
- Through knowledge of industry governing codes & standards
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
