Genetic Counsellor
Job Summary
- Provide genetic counselling to individuals couples and families regarding inherited conditions and genetic risks.
- Review patient medical histories and family pedigrees to assess potential genetic disorders.
- Explain complex genetic concepts in an understandable manner helping patients make informed decisions.
- Coordinate genetic testing interpret results and discuss findings with patients and healthcare teams.
- Offer support and guidance to patients coping with genetic diagnoses.
- Collaborate with physicians laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Maintain detailed patient records in compliance with confidentiality and healthcare regulations.
- Participate in public health education awareness programs and genetic research initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in medical genetics and counselling techniques.
- Master s degree in Genetic Counselling Medical Genetics or related field.
- Valid UAE healthcare professional license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in genetic counselling including pediatric case exposure.
- Strong knowledge of human genetics genomics and counselling principles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Empathetic patient-focused approach to care.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
