General Summary
To perform maintenance and overhauling activities of the Finishing Section throughout the plant with high proficiency quality and maximum safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implement Production Optimization
Execute scheduled corrective maintenance and major repairs of equipment to optimize production and minimize plant downtime related to maintenance activities.
Facilitate Corrective Action
Perform troubleshooting during shutdowns of mechanical equipment and assist in identifying root causes for corrective actions.
Attend mechanical maintenance issues during plant shutdowns and communicate equipment abnormalities to supervisors for planning and rectification.
Ensure availability of required tools and tackles.
Meet Engineering and Safety Principles
Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations during maintenance activities in the Finishing Section.
Assistance and Support
Assist Sr. Technician Finishing in all technical activities to ensure smooth maintenance operations during shutdowns.
Act as Sr. Technician in the absence of the Sr. Technician or whenever required by the section.
Following Standards
Follow mechanical maintenance standards for all equipment in Workshop Finishing.
Health Safety and Environmental Practices
Comply with all relevant safety quality health and environmental policies and procedures applicable to maintenance activities.

Minimum Education Qualifications
Mandatory:
ITI in Mechanical Fitter Trade.
Required Technical Knowledge:

Knowledge and skills in troubleshooting mechanical problems.
Understanding of engineering drawings and hydraulic circuits.
Professional Experience
Mandatory:
35 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a steel plant as a Technician / Fitter.
Preferred:
Knowledge of rigging and slinging activities.
Key Performance Indicators
Ensure implementation of Health Safety and Environment practices to achieve zero accidents.
Optimize maintenance costs related to mechanical repairs and downtime reduction.
Support corrective actions for timely resolution of maintenance issues.
Ensure compliance with planned maintenance systems procedures and techniques.
