Job Summary.
Experienced Field Service Technician for pipeline installation and inspection projects. Knowledge of welding coating systems quality control requirements and site inspection practices required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site inspection of pipeline installation maintenance and repair activities.
- Monitor and verify welding activities in accordance with approved procedures specifications and applicable industry standards.
- Conduct coating inspections including surface preparation verification coating application monitoring and final coating assessment.
- Ensure installation work complies with project specifications quality requirements and safety regulations.
- Review inspection and test plans (ITPs) drawings procedures and technical documentation.
- Witness and document field testing activities including hydrostatic testing and non-destructive examination (NDE) where applicable.
- Identify and report non-conformances quality concerns and installation issues.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate field records.
- Coordinate with project managers construction teams contractors and customers to resolve technical issues.
- Support commissioning and start-up activities as required.
- Promote and maintain compliance with company HSE policies and customer safety requirements.
- Travel to customer sites and project locations as required.
Required
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Welding Technology Quality Assurance or a related discipline.
- Minimum 35 years of field experience in pipeline installation inspection.
- Knowledge of pipeline construction methods welding processes and protective coating systems.
- Experience conducting field inspections and preparing inspection reports.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings specifications and quality documents.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- CSWIP 3.1 AWS CWI or equivalent welding inspection certification.
- NACE Coating Inspector Level 1 or 2 BGAS or equivalent coating inspection certification.
- Familiarity with API ASME ISO and customer-specific pipeline standards.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and inspection documentation requirements.
