Engineering Technical Support Intern
Job Summary
AspenTech an Emerson business is a global leader in industrial software providing advanced solutions for process optimization energy management and asset performance across industries including oil & gas chemicals and energy. Our technologies enable organizations to operate more efficiently safely and sustainably.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic final-year Chemical Engineering student to join our team for a 6-month internship. This internship offers hands-on experience in process simulation optimization and digital transformation technologies working alongside industry experts on real-world projects.
Your role responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Assist in developing and validating process simulation models using AspenTech tools (e.g. Aspen HYSYS Aspen Plus).
- Support engineers in process optimization and troubleshooting for client use cases.
- Participate in data analysis and interpretation to improve operational performance.
- Contribute to digital twin and advanced process control (APC) projects.
- Prepare technical reports documentation and presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including solution consulting sales and customer support.
- Attend training sessions to build expertise in AspenTech software solutions and industry applications.

What do I need to be considered for this role
- Final year student in Chemical Engineering program
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Final-year student pursuing a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering (or closely related field).
- Strong understanding of mass and energy balances thermodynamics and process design.
- Familiarity with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS Aspen Plus or similar) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel PowerPoint).
- Eagerness to learn and apply digital technologies in the process industries.
