Job Purpose:
The Product Development team are responsible for leading new technology development and supporting existing product designs, product modification and equipment installation.
The Design Draughtsperson will be responsible for developing engineering drawings and technical documentation for a range of products and projects in accordance with department processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing designs in line with design request and equipment technical specification
Developing 3D CAD models in Autodesk Inventor
Developing 2D CAD models in AutoCAD
Producing manufacturing, assembly, general arrangement, layout, fabrication, machining, process flow, Piping and Instrumentation (P&ID) and schematic drawings
Developing design concepts and solutions to satisfy design request requirements.
Evaluating feasibility of design solutions in consideration of risk, ease of manufacture, cost, and lead time
Leading, attending and contributing during design reviews
Creating and issuing design instructions for the manufacture or modification of products
Liaising with external vendors and projects team during the manufacturing process to capture and record changes in design documentation.
Reviewing and checking drawings and design documentation.
Performing onshore and offshore dimensional surveys
Preparing 3D CAD renders for sales and marketing material for supporting new engineering projects
Ensuring design tasks / outputs are progressed in accordance with product development processes and procedures.
Estimating design task completion timeline
Communicating design request progress to line manager and key project stakeholders
Actively promote a positive team working environment within the Product Development and interfacing departments
Adhering to company QHSE policies and procedures
Requirements
Qualifications/Training
Essential:
Appropriate qualifications in engineering draughting
Preferred:
Mechanical OR Structural Engineering Qualifications
Chartered or working towards
BOSIET / MIST
Experience:
5+ years experience in engineering design and draughting
Competent in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
Capable of carrying out dimensional surveys
Ability to work alone or part of a team.
Working in accordance with design standards
Draughting in accordance with technical drawing standards
Prioritising conflicting workloads
Preferred:
Designed electrical and hydraulic equipment.
Experience with Autodesk Vault
Worked within the oil & gas industry.
