Job Description

  • Support the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef/Head Chef in the daily operation and work.
  • Work according to the menu specifications by the upper-level Chefs.
  • Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules set by the restaurant.
  • Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage and sanitation.
  • Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards.
  • Assess quality control and adhere to service standards.
  • Support the control of food cost.
  • Have a high standard of food preparation & attention to detail.
  • Control food stock and food cost in his section.
  • Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate superiors to complete the daily tasks.
  • Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques.
  • Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control.
  • Adhere to all the safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
  • Works to the specifications received by the upper-level Chefs regarding portion size, quantity and quality as laid down in the recipe index.
  • Ensures all the hygiene records are maintained and adhere to all the hygiene trainings and present SOP.
  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes within company guidelines.
  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination.
  • Ensure food stuffs are of a good quality and stored correctly.
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place for dishes in the assigned section.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns related to food preparation promptly.
  • Support inventory management for the assigned section, including stock control and rotation.
