The opportunity
- The Contract Bid & Proposal Management Senior Professional is responsible for leading end-to-end bid proposal and contract management activities for medium to highly complex projects for Operating Unit (OU) AE & Oversight Countries. The role develops winning bid strategies manages cross-functional proposal teams leads commercial and contractual risk assessments negotiates commercial terms and ensures compliant competitive and profitable tender submissions.
How youll make an impact
- Lead and coordinate technical commercial and contractual proposals.
- Analyze customer technical and commercial requirements evaluate solution alternatives and define the appropriate products systems applications and execution concepts to develop optimized and competitive bid solutions.
- Own the complete bid process from opportunity qualification through contract award.
- Develop bid execution plans submission schedules and stakeholder responsibilities.
- Support bid/no-bid decisions and capture planning.
- Develop tender strategies and tender execution plans aligned with Capture Team strategy customer expectations value proposition commercial setup execution strategy division of work (DoW) lessons learned and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with governance approvals and risk management requirements.
Commercial Strategy & Costing
- Lead target Costing and commercial strategy development.
- Analyze project costs market intelligence competitor positioning and commercial risks.
- Drive value engineering and solution optimization initiatives.
- Develop pricing models and profitability assessments.
- Own and manage the Full Cost Model (FCM) total price sheets cash flow analysis contingency management margin optimization and tender budget control.
Requirement Management & Change Control
- Manage customer requirements throughout the tender lifecycle.
- Control document and communicate assumptions exclusions clarifications deviations and contractual qualifications.
- Maintain bid baseline integrity and implement effective change control processes during bid execution.
Contract Management
- Review and negotiate customer contracts framework agreements consortium agreements and subcontracts.
- Identify contractual risks and mitigation measures.
- Coordinate with Legal Finance Tax Insurance and Risk Management teams.
- Lead evaluation and management of performance guarantees availability guarantees efficiency guarantees acceptance criteria and associated LD mechanisms.
Risk Management & Governance
- Lead tender risk reviews and management approval processes.
- Conduct commercial contractual technical financial and execution risk assessments.
- Coordinate Risk Review preparation presentations documentation closure of actions and implementation of management mandates before bid submission.
- Maintain bid risk registers and mitigation plans.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with customers consultants EPC contractors partners and suppliers.
- Lead bid review meetings and decision forums.
- Ensure positive customer experience throughout the tendering and sales lifecycle.
- Support Sales Managers during negotiations customer meetings clarification meetings and technical-commercial discussions.
Proposal Quality & Documentation
- Ensure complete accurate and professional proposal submissions.
- Maintain proposal repositories lessons learned and templates.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Contract Award & Handover
- Lead contract clarification and negotiation phases.
- Facilitate comprehensive handover to execution teams.
Leadership & Knowledge Sharing
- Collaboration with the team of tendering professionals.
- Drive best practices lessons learned and continuous improvement across the tendering organization.
Tender Governance & Reporting
- Maintain timely and accurate reporting of tender status key risks opportunities resource requirements submission progress and commercial developments to Tender Management and relevant stakeholders. Escalate critical issues proactively to ensure informed decision-making effective resource allocation and adherence to tender governance requirements.
Background:
- A bachelors degree in electrical engineering.
- 9 years experience in tendering for large transmission projects or project management.
- Strong knowledge in Transmission substation product systems and Grid Solutions.
- Knowledge about bidding process skills.
- Ability to manage complexity lead through change and operate in fast paced environments.
