Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team for an Engineering Consultancy role specializing in FEED (FrontEnd Engineering Design) and Detailed Design for largescale EPC projects. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the Oil & Gas sector particularly with ADNOC projects and possess a thorough understanding of electrical system design engineering principles and project execution in line with ADNOCs specific requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the electrical engineering scope for FEED and Detailed Design phases of projects ensuring designs meet client specifications industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and conduct electrical system design including power distribution lighting systems grounding and protection schemes.
- Manage the preparation and review of technical documentation including electrical drawings specifications and calculations.
- Lead design coordination across all electrical systems and ensure integration with mechanical civil and other disciplines.
- Provide technical direction and support throughout the entire project lifecycle from FEED to detailed design and project execution.
- Lead the preparation of engineering deliverables and ensure timely submission in compliance with project schedules.
- Collaborate with project management procurement and construction teams to ensure electrical design deliverables align with project requirements and timelines.
- Resolve complex technical issues that arise during design and execution phases and provide effective solutions.
- Serve as the primary electrical engineering point of contact for ADNOC ensuring strong communication and addressing technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate and participate in client meetings and design reviews to ensure alignment with ADNOCs technical and operational expectations.
- Provide technical support and recommendations to ADNOC to improve design solutions and meet project objectives.
- Ensure that all electrical designs comply with local national and international standards and codes (IEC IEEE NEC) as well as ADNOCspecific regulations and guidelines.
- Perform and participate in safety assessments risk evaluations and HAZOP/HAZID studies to ensure safe and reliable electrical systems.
- Ensure designs meet operational environmental and safety requirements set by ADNOC and relevant authorities.
- Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and designers providing guidance on technical and professional development.
- Supervise and review the work of junior engineers to ensure adherence to engineering standards and project requirements.
- Contribute to the growth and success of the engineering team by fostering a collaborative work environment and promoting continuous learning.
- Ensure the electrical engineering team adheres to quality standards and best practices in all design work.
- Lead internal and external design reviews ensuring all feedback is addressed and incorporated into final deliverables.
- Maintain an uptodate knowledge of technological advancements in electrical engineering and implement innovations that add value to projects.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on FEED and Detailed Design for largescale EPC projects in the oil and gas industry.
- Extensive handson experience in electrical design for power distribution lighting systems MCCs protection systems and control systems.
- Proven track record of delivering electrical engineering design for ADNOC projects with a strong understanding of ADNOCs technical and regulatory standards.
- Experience in the design execution and commissioning of electrical systems within the Oil & Gas sector particularly in the UAE.
- Proficient in electrical design software (e.g. ETAP AutoCAD or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of electrical design standards including IEC IEEE NEC and ADNOCspecific requirements.
- Indepth understanding of electrical systems including high/medium/lowvoltage distribution control systems and instrumentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients vendors and multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Ability to manage complex projects prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
- Professional certification (e.g. PMP Chartered Engineer etc.) is a plus.
- ADNOCapproved training or certification is highly desirable.
