Executive Director- Fixed Income Investments High Yield

The Trading & Investments team which is a core function within the Global Markets Franchise is a high performing business and offers an extensive range of tailor made and strategic solutions products and services to meet the needs of stakeholders worldwide.

This position will be based in the UAE sitting within the Fixed Income Investments Team.

Job Purpose:

To assist managing and growing the High Yield Credit Investments portfolio as part of the Fixed Income Investments team in order to maximize profitability while minimizing risk exposure and ensuring compliance with internal policy and external regulators.

• Portfolio Growth: Drive portfolio growth in line with the investment strategy and banks comfort.
• Market Interaction: Actively engage with market participants to understand trends and implement investment ideas.
• CrossFunctional Collaboration: Collaborate across functions sharing knowledge and experience
• Analytical Acumen: Utilize strong analytical and negotiation skills to create an accountable and goaloriented environment.
• Strategy Development: Assist in generating and presenting new investment strategies to Senior Management.
• Support Colleagues: Provide backup and support to colleagues and the Head of Investments in managing portfolios.
• Idea Generation: Identify opportunities across strategies and geographies making investment recommendations within the risk framework.
• Business Strategy Execution: Deliver the business strategy to meet and surpass set budgets.
• Mentoring: Mentor and train junior staff members to enhance the desks capabilities.
• Risk and Reporting: Work closely with Risk teams and participate in improving reporting reliability and efficiency.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all risk and counterparty limits.
• Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications :

Qualifications & Experience: 

Minimum Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in finance Accounting Economics Commerce Engineering or related discipline.

Minimum Experience & Attributes:

• Minimum of 10 years relevant markets experience in similar positions
• Strong background in High Yield Investments be it in an Alternative Asset Manager or an Investment Bank with strong structuring/modelling skills.
• Advanced knowledge of HY Credit markets DM and EM
• Global Markets products knowledge and experience in application of this knowledge in portfolio construction management and design of investment products and solutions.
• CFA / CAIA / CA preferred
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and jurisdictions and compliance requirements
• Proven track record on managing risk effectively and delivering consistent financial performance
• Strong Microsoft office skills including VBA/Macro development
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical background & quantitative skills
• Selfstarter which shows initiative and able to problem solve & work with stakeholders confidently
