Roles and responsibilities
A Mixologist will be responsible for engaging our guests during their visit, receiving/serving orders and ensuring brand service standards are met to the highest quality. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Receive orders and serve customer requests completely in a timely manner
- Create and serve a range of beverages including classic cocktails, mixers, beer, wine and soft drinks etc.
- Take food orders and assist the floor team with deliveries as required
- Understand menu content, any menu changes, and promotional activities
- Keep your service area clean, tidy, and well-prepared
- Efficiently manage the proper settlement of all customer accounts
- Answer guest queries in a polite and helpful manner

A mixologist goes beyond the basic duties of a bartender by experimenting with flavors, techniques, and presentation to create unique and memorable drinks. Below are the key skills required for a Mixologist:
Expert Knowledge of Beverages
- Cocktail recipes: In-depth knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes, along with the ability to craft unique drinks based on customer preferences or trends.
- Spirits and liqueurs: A deep understanding of various spirits (vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, tequila, etc.), liqueurs, and bitters, and how they interact with different mixers.
- Non-alcoholic drinks: Expertise in creating non-alcoholic cocktails (mocktails), catering to customers who prefer alcohol-free options.
- Beer, wine, and cider: Familiarity with the different types of beers, wines, and ciders, including proper pairings and serving techniques.
Creativity and Innovation
- Drink creation: Ability to create new and exciting cocktails by experimenting with flavors, garnishes, and presentation techniques.
- Seasonal offerings: Innovate drinks based on seasonal ingredients, trends, or themes, keeping the menu fresh and exciting for repeat guests.
- Signature cocktails: Develop unique signature cocktails that reflect the bar or establishment’s identity and enhance the customer experience.
- Presentation and garnishing: Focus on aesthetic elements, such as garnishes, glassware, and drink presentations, creating a visually appealing drink that enhances the customer experience.
Customer Service Excellence
- Personalized service: Tailor drinks to individual customer preferences, taking the time to understand their tastes and suggesting drinks they will enjoy.
- Engagement and communication: Engage with guests in a friendly, approachable manner, explaining the ingredients, flavors, or history of cocktails to enhance the drinking experience.
- Handling special requests: Be attentive to customers' special requests, such as adjusting the strength of a drink, dietary preferences, or creating custom cocktails based on guest preferences.
- Customer satisfaction: Ensure customers enjoy their experience, proactively seeking feedback and addressing any concerns regarding drinks or service.
