Roles and responsibilities
1. Sales and Business Development:
- Lead Generation and Prospecting: Identifying potential clients, markets, or sales opportunities and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders.
- Sales Strategy Development: Collaborating with senior management to develop and implement sales strategies, targets, and forecasts.
- Managing Sales Pipeline: Overseeing the sales pipeline, tracking leads, prospects, and ongoing opportunities, and ensuring the team is working towards conversion targets.
- Negotiating Contracts and Deals: Engaging in negotiations with clients or partners to finalize contracts, agreements, and terms, ensuring the best possible commercial outcomes for the organization.
- Achieving Sales Targets: Meeting or exceeding sales targets, performance KPIs, and revenue goals to contribute to the organization's growth.
2. Market Research and Analysis:
- Market Research: Conducting research to understand market trends, customer needs, competitor analysis, and industry developments to inform business strategies.
- Customer Insights: Gathering feedback from clients, customers, and sales teams to gain insights into customer preferences, pain points, and opportunities for new product offerings or improvements.
- Competitor Analysis: Monitoring competitor activities, product launches, pricing strategies, and market positioning to ensure the company remains competitive.
3. Relationship Management:
- Client Relationships: Building and nurturing long-term relationships with existing clients and partners to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicating with internal teams (marketing, finance, product development) and external stakeholders (clients, vendors, distributors) to ensure alignment on business goals and strategy.
- Customer Support: Providing high-level support to key clients, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring overall satisfaction with the company’s products or services.
4. Marketing and Brand Promotion:
- Brand Positioning: Working closely with marketing teams to develop and execute campaigns that strengthen the company’s brand presence in the market.
- Product Launches: Assisting in the launch and promotion of new products or services, including developing sales materials, promotional activities, and go-to-market strategies.
- Content Creation and Communication: Ensuring that all marketing materials, presentations, and sales collateral align with the brand's voice and positioning.
5. Commercial Strategy and Reporting:
- Sales Forecasting: Forecasting sales and market demand to ensure that supply chains, production, and inventory management align with sales expectations.
- Business Planning: Collaborating with senior management on annual or quarterly business plans, setting objectives, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Financial Reporting and Budgeting: Managing budgets, monitoring sales performance, and providing regular reports to senior management on revenue, costs, and profit margins.
- Pricing Strategy: Assisting with the development of competitive pricing strategies based on market research and cost analysis to maximize profitability.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaboration with Product Development: Collaborating with product managers or development teams to ensure products meet customer needs and market demand.
- Collaboration with Operations and Logistics: Coordinating with the operations and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products to clients and maintaining good stock levels.
- Working with Finance: Coordinating with the finance team to ensure payment terms, credit limits, and financial documentation align with commercial agreements.
Desired candidate profile
- Prepare Daily Sales Reports for freight, including Revenue, Duty, Cost of Sales, and Gross Margin
- Manage revenue for transport, reconcile with SAP, and coordinate with IT for interface-related issues
- Reconcile closed jobs and daily sales reports, as well as costs raised in SAP on a monthly basis
- Coordinate with operation teams, and freight/transport suppliers for job costing and PO (purchase order) submission
- Resolve queries and disputes in coordination with operations, and vendors
- Process urgent and authority payments, including advance payments and vendor/customer intra-account reconciliations
- Support trade licenses, lease renewals, insurance renewals, and handle insurance claims
- Manage customer billing, invoice management, and related queries
- Assist the Financial Account Manager during month-end closing, audits, and ad-hoc tasks
Required Skills To Be Successful
- Professional qualification ACCA/CMA and/or a master’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Finance, including 3 years in freight management and commercial/operation support.
- Strong understanding of business operations to develop and introduce reports.
- Operational knowledge to analyze financial activities
