Roles and responsibilities
As Demi Chef de Partie you will carry out and partially supervise operational tasks and duties in the kitchen under the guidance of the respective Senior Chefs, with the overall objective to prepare food in a timely manner as per quality and food safety standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing and cooking dishes to the highest standards.
- Ensure all ingredients are prepared and presented according to recipes and kitchen standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Work efficiently under pressure while ensuring quality and consistency.
- Monitor and manage inventory for your section, assisting with orders as needed.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Contribute to the creation of new dishes, sharing ideas and feedback.
- Support the kitchen team with other tasks as required
- Oversee and follow through the food safety standards set by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Safe & Sound and through the UAE Municipality rules and regulation.
Qualifications And Requirements
- High School qualification or equivalent.
- Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Culinary arts is preferred.
- Experience as a Demi Chef de Partie in a high-volume hotel or free-standing restaurant with the highest levels of service preferred.
- A minimum 2 years’ experience working in a 5-star or free-standing restaurant.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Verbal and written communication skills in Arabic or other languages are preferred.
- Hotel pre-opening or renovation experience is preferred.
- Solid Knowledge in preparing, cooking, presenting dishes.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP.
