Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Support the section head in the design process to ensure all projects adhere to the highest quality of designs.
  • Review architectural submissions for 'look and feel' items within the delivery stage, protect the design intent, and ensure that purchasers receive what they have purchased to ensure alignment with the design intent.
  • Review design submissions for technical and commercial compliance during the design stage, and lead value engineering exercises to achieve target budgets to ensure that all design submissions comply with technical and commercial requirements.
  • Operate within the stipulated framework to maintain legal and ethical standards and ensure compliance with required DHRE regulatory framework and corporate governance.
  • Manage all aspects of the design process, including master planning, designing, procurement, consultant appointment, and project execution to ensure that all technical procedures meet approved corporate operational design objectives.
  • Review the preparation of project-specific design briefs that reflect project intent and objectives.
  • Prepare and provide inputs to business cases related to design, financials and feasibility within the portfolio to ensure that all business cases align with the company's strategy. Obtain stakeholder approvals by coaching project teams.
  • Manage consultants and ensure that risks are mitigated, and senior management is informed of any changes.
  • Provide regular feedback on project status, risks and approved feasibility to ensure that design goals are being met.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships at all levels, including liaising with stakeholder partners and key business affiliates.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in market dynamics, and competitive landscape relevant to the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, processes and controls of project design activities at all levels.

Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Min. 4-6 years’ experience in a real estate / project management managing commercial designs
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/ Engineering/ Real Estate Development; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Excellent knowledge of real estate development processes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Working knowledge of interiors, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines; interior construction; and interiors specifications.
  • Proficiency in Ms. Office suite and AutoCAD software.
  • Well versed in design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Project management skills including planning, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation skills with the ability to manage contracts and agreements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple design projects simultaneously.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting ideas, proposals, and progress reports to various audiences.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and metrics to assess program effectiveness and make informed decisions.

  • Team Leadership: Skills in leading and motivating teams, fostering collaboration, and encouraging professional development.

  • Budget Management: Proficiency in developing and managing budgets for development projects, ensuring financial accountability.

  • Market Research: Familiarity with conducting market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for growth.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges and implement effective solutions.

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with development tools, CRM systems, and project management software to enhance efficiency.

  • Networking: Ability to network within the industry, attending events and engaging with stakeholders to promote organizational initiatives.
