Farmer

• Follow regulations, laws, and safety requirements related to crop production
• Design and implement crop rotation systems to optimize soil fertility
• Plant and care for crops, including, soil preparation, sowing, and irrigation
• Identify and control pests, diseases and weeds
• Use, maintain, and repair agricultural machinery and equipment
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of crop production, harvest timing, and amount produced
• Utilize best agricultural practices to ensure high quality yields
• Operate and maintain tractors, combines, and other farm equipment
• Monitor weather conditions and take appropriate action to protect crops
• Assist with packaging and distribution of harvested products
• Monitor farm machinery to ensure it’s functioning correctly
• Assist with the planning and implementing of any new projects
  

Qualifications

• Proven farm experience in crops and harvest
• Working knowledge of safety guidelines and regulations
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of the latest agricultural technology
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work long hours in a manual labor position
